Dr. Priya Batra, M.D., M.S., is an assistant professor in residence at the UCR School of Medicine and the Center for Healthy Communities.

Batra completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of California, Los Angeles and received post-doctoral training in health services research through the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholars Program. She completed an M.S. in health policy and management from the Fielding School of Public Health at UCLA.

Batra practices general obstetrics and gynecology. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She serves on the Preconception Health Council of California and is a member of the Society of Family Planning. Batra is a member of Academy Health, and an associate editor for Women’s Health Issues.

Research Interests

Batra’s research is focused in the content areas of: preconception and interconception care, the provision of preventive women’s health services, the impact of social determinants of health in maternal and child health, and the application of health information technologies in women’s health. Her work contributes to the body of knowledge seeking to address disparities in U.S. women’s health outcomes.
