Dr. Olumide Akingbemi, M.D., joined the faculty of the UC Riverside School of Medicine as an assistant clinical professor in internal medicine in 2014. He practices at the Riverside Community Hospital.

Prior to joining the UCR School of Medicine, Akingbemi was a hospitalist at Kaiser Permanente centers in Fontana and Ontario.

Akingbemi earned his M.D. from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, then conducted his residency at Kaiser Permanente in Oakland. He received his bachelor's degree in biomedical sciences from the University of California, Irvine.

Research Interests

Akingbemi is participating in a joint research project between the Meharry Medical College and Vanderbilt University, Department of Cardiology titled the "Retrospective Study of Cardiovascular Events in Patients with Positive Stress Test and Negative Coronary Angiogram – Meharry Medical College and Vanderbilt University, Department of Cardiology.
