Dr. Muhammad Arif, M.D. became a member of the University of California, Riverside School of Medicine clinical faculty in 2012. He practices at the Riverside University Health System - Medical Center.

As a clinical faculty member, Arif teaches human anatomy courses and is a facilitator in the Problem Based Learning program.

Prior to joining UCR, Arif was an assistant professor in Family Medicine at Loma Linda University and worked as an attending physician at Community Health Systems in Moreno Valley. He has also taught at the North Eastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, the King Edward Medical University, the DeMontmorency College of Dentistry and the Mayo Hospital School of Physical Therapy in Lahore, Pakistan.

He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and of the American Board of Clinical Lipidology. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice, the American Medical Association, the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and the California Medical Association.

Research Interests

In addition to his interests in general areas of family practice, Arif won first prize for a research project on the "Effect of White Coat on Patient's Perception." He also participated in research on the impact of electronic health record (EHR) implementation in an ambulatory primary care setting on family medicine education.
