Biography

Dr. Monica Gordon, M.D., is an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at the UC Riverside School of Medicine and a staff psychiatrist with the Riverside County Department of Mental Health.

With RCDMH she oversees about 350 adult and geriatric patients across two clinics, providing assessment, treatment and follow-up appointments.

Gordon presented the geriatric psychopharmacology lecture for UCR School of Medicine psychiatry residents

She attended San Diego State University as an undergraduate, earning a B.S. in biology. She went on to earn her M.D. from the St. Louis University School of Medicine, then conducted her internship and residency at the UCLA Olive View Medical Center in Sylmar, California. Gordon board certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Research Interests

She has interests in adult psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry. In addition, she has presented on post-stroke depression, Alzheimer's Disease therapy, HIV and psychiatry and psychopharmacology.
