Biography

Dr. Daniel Kim is chair of medicine at RUHS and the founding program director for the UCR internal medicine residency.

Kim graduated from UCR in 1989 with a degree in psychobiology, then went on to earn his M.D. from Drexel University in 1994. He finished his residency training in internal medicine at Loma Linda University, serving as chief medical resident in 1997-98. He received his healthcare MBA from University of California, Irvine in 2005. Prior to joining UCR, Kim served as key clinical faculty, associate program director and program director of the Loma Linda University's Internal Medicine Residency.
Kim is a member of the UC Riverside Alumni Association Board of Directors and a member of the American Medical Association, the Society of Hospital Medicine, and the American College of Physicians.

Research Interests

Kim's research interests lie in medical education and quality improvement. His recent research paper topics include invasive klebsiella pneumoniae, Epstein-Barr virus associate hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), and necrotizing fasciitis.
