Dr. Nathan McLaughlin, M.D. joined the UC Riverside School of Medicine as an assistant professor  of clinical family medicine in September, 2013.

He came to UCR from the University of Illinois, Chicago, where he was an assistant professor of clinical family medicine. He also served as a clinic preceptor for first- and second-year medical students and taught courses in occupation and environmental health.

McLaughlin earned his M.D. from the Virginia Commonwealth Universty School of Medicine and conducted his residency in family medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he also served as chief resident.

McLaughlin is proficient in Spanish and has travelled abroad to the Dominican Republic and Honduras on educational and health care missions. He also helped develop and implement a quality improvement process for a cervical cancer screening program in Senegal.

He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Research Interests

He has an interest in providing health care to underserved populations, both in the United States and abroad.
