Dr. Arlenne Shapov, M.D., is an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at the University of California, Riverside School of Medicine and staff psychiatrist providing care to children and adolescents for the Riverside County Department of Mental Health.

Shapov is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry.

She attended the Xochicalco School of Medicine in Tijuana, Mexico, then completed her residency at the Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She was then chief fellow at the Yale Child Study Center Riverview Track, where she served as a liaison between program director/assistant director and junior fellows, assisted with recruitment, organized and assembled call schedule and call payments for psychiatry and psychology fellows. She also was the interview and write-up mentor for medical students and junior psychiatry residents.

She previously served as the copy editor of the Journal of Humanistic Psychiatry and edited the MetroHealth System's Psychiatry Residency Program newsletter. Shapov speaks English, Spanish and French.

Research Interests

Shapov has spoken about mental illness in children, including early onset psychosis, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and depression.
