Dr. Chimezie Ubbaonu, M.D., is an assistant clinical professor of internal medicine at the University of California, Riverside School of Medicine. He practices internal medicine at Riverside Community Hospital.

A native of Nigeria who attended medical school at the University of Lagos, Ubbaonu conducted his residency in internal medicine at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso, Texas. He previously worked as a hospitalist at the Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque, N.M.

He is a member of the American Medical Association, and the American College of Physicians.

Research Interests

Ubbaonu has a special interest in cardiology and ICU treatment. He has made presentations on serum hydroxyvitamin D and physical function in older adults, goal-directed therapy in the treatment of sepsis and septic shock, and the method and approach for treatment of adult patients with ascites.
