BMSC 254 (Biomed Pizza Friday): Science Practice, Scientific Method and Bioethics

Seminars are scheduled for Fridays at 12:15 p.m. in the third floor conference Room 321 of the School of Medicine Research Building. Faculty, students, fellows, collaborators and staff are all welcome to attend. Pizza and soda immediately follow the presentation. The seminar schedule is listed below.

This course covers practical aspects of scientific research and the philosophy of science, from data collection/presentation and laboratory notebooks to the concept of a paradigm and hypothesis testing to bioethics and professionalism. The course consists of a set of didactic lectures, workshop sessions and guest speakers from different scientific professions. This course is designed to fulfill the NIH requirement for instruction in the responsible conduct of research.
