Current Planning Activities
The University of California Board of Regents in July 2008 approved establishment of the UCR School of Medicine. This followed an extensive planning process, and consideration by the Riverside Division of the Academic Senate, which approved the medical school curriculum and voted unanimously to support the School of Medicine proposal.
A search for the founding Dean of the medical school has been completed with the appointment of G. Richard Olds, M.D. and work has begun to develop initial agreements with regional hospitals for training of residents.
