NIH-funded postdoctoral fellow positions are available in the Zheng Lab at the University of California, Riverside. Current research projects investigate emerging roles of alternative splicing and nonsense-mediated mRNA decay in brain development, neuronal longevity, and neurodegeneration (Neuron 2020, JMB 2020, Neuron 2019, NAR 2019, NAR2018, RNA 2017, Cell Reports 2016). For details please visit http://zhenglab.ucr.edu.
The positions offers an amazing opportunity to continue training in neuroscience and RNA biology with an emphasis on cutting-edge cell and molecular biology, imaging, genome editing, genetics, biochemistry, ribogenomics, and informatics approaches. We welcome and strongly support scientists with diverse backgrounds who are energetic and highly motivated for career advancement. Salary is commensurate upon qualifications and 2-steps higher than NIH NRSA stipends.
A strong background in RNA biology, developmental neurobiology, computational biology, and mouse genetics is highly preferred. Ph.D.s with expertise in one or more of the following are strongly encouraged to apply: biochemistry, in utero electroporation, single cell technology, genome editing, RNA binding proteins, ribogenomics, and cell death.
Please send your CV, a description of research experience and interest, representative publications, and three references with contact information to sika.zheng@ucr.edu as a single PDF file. Arrange for reference letters to be sent separately.
