Postdoctoral Scholar and Research Technician Positions for Multiple Sclerosis Research

Postdoctoral scholar, and research technician positions with competitive salaries and benefits are available immediately in Dr. Tiwari-Woodruff Lab at the University of California, Riverside. The primary focus of Tiwari-Woodruff lab is to understand demyelination and neurodegeneration in postmortem MS brain and in different mouse models of Multiple sclerosis. In addition, discovering therapeutic agents that have immunomodulatory and remyelinating properties to induce recovery and repair. Post-doctoral scholar positions are immediately available for two funded projects: i) To investigate the role of CXCL1 chemokine in remyelination and repair (required strong neuroimmunology background); ii) investigate the initiation of seizure and involvement of inhibitory neurons and astrocyte gap junctions in chronically demyelinated mouse model of multiple sclerosis (required brain slice electrophysiology background). Tiwari-Woodruff lab uses animal models, immunology, electrophysiology, molecular biology and biochemistry approaches for these studies. Candidates should have strong neuroimmunology or electrophysiology experience. For postdoctoral positions, candidates should have a doctoral degree in neuroscience, immunology, biochemistry, physiology or related field. Preference will be given to candidates with research experience in EAE immunology and slice electrophysiology. Ability to work both independently and cooperatively within a team is essential.
