Postdoctoral Scholar Positions for Child and Adolescent Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry and Neuroscience
A postdoctoral scholar position with competitive salary and benefits is available immediately in Dr. Kimberly Lakes’ lab at the University of California, Riverside. The primary focus of our work is promoting behavioral and emotional health among underserved children and adolescents. The current opening is for a postdoctoral scholar to work in a new school-based clinic in Desert Hot Springs in the Coachella Valley. In person clinical services at this site will be required; in addition, a portion of the duties may be performed remotely or on the UCR campus. Clinical supervision will be provided by licensed psychologists. For additional information about our research and recent publications, please visit Dr. Lakes profile page.
For postdoctoral positions, candidates should have a doctoral degree (PhD) in clinical psychology or school psychology. We welcome and strongly support scientists with diverse backgrounds who are energetic and highly motivated for career advancement. Postdoctoral salary is commensurate upon qualifications and 2-steps higher than NIH NRSA stipends. University of California also offers competitive salary and benefit for staff scientists.
A member of the world’s most prestigious public university system, UC Riverside is an institution powered by an entrepreneurial spirit, a record of innovation and results, and a commitment to excellence and collaboration across disciplines. UC Riverside has a vibrant research environment (including 2 Nobel laureates and more than a dozen of national academies members). The campus is also located in a prime position close to other universities, research institutes, and biotech industries present in Southern California.
Riverside County is a wonderful place to live, providing ample cultural and entertainment opportunities in a safe and comfortable community with affordable housing and living expenses. Riverside is about an hour away from beautiful beaches and ski slopes. The city offers all the cultural advantages of any U.S. city, together with the amazing all-year-round weather of sunny Southern California. Desert Hot Springs, the primary location for this position, is in the greater Palm Springs area, which offers additional cultural advantages as well as affordable housing.
Preference will be given to candidates with research and clinical experience related to child and adolescent mental health. Ability to work both independently and cooperatively within a team is essential. Applicants should send a CV, a brief research statement, and the names/contact information of three references to Dr. Lakes via email: klakes@medsch.ucr.edu
