About the School of Medicine
The UC Riverside School of Medicine was created to address the shortfall of healthcare professionals in the Inland Southern California region. The school is led by the Mark and Pam Rubin Dean and the Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences Deborah Deas, M.D., M.P.H.
Our leadership group is made up of a team of medical professionals who are well-respected leaders in the field of medical education, united in the goal of improving health care for the residents of Inland Southern California.
Our History
The UCR School of Medicine welcomed the first class of students in 2013, but the dream of creating a medical school in Riverside dates back to 1971. Read about our history and learn about the people who helped make the School of Medicine a reality.
