Lilly Marks to Speak at Annual Women in Medicine and Science Lecture
Lilly Marks, who recently ended her tenure as the vice president for health affairs at the University of Colorado and Anschutz Medical Campus, will be the keynote speaker at the annual UC Riverside School of Medicine Women in Medicine and Science lecture on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021 at 5 p.m.
The lecture is part of our celebration of the American Medical Association's Women in Medicine Month, in which we recognize and honor women's advancements in the field of medicine.
The lecture, which will be streamed on Zoom, is free and open to the public.

About our Speaker: Lilly Marks

Lilly Marks served from 2010-2020 as vice president for health affairs for the University of Colorado and Anschutz Medical Campus, which includes the university’s Schools of Medicine, Dental Medicine, Pharmacy, Public Health, College of Nursing and Graduate School and the University of Colorado Hospital and Children’s Hospital Colorado. Prior to her health campus leadership role, Marks spent two decades as both senior associate dean for Finance and Administration at the School of Medicine and as executive director of University of Colorado Medicine, the 501(c)(3) faculty practice organization.
Currently, she serves on the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. From 2015-2020 she served on the board of directors of the Association of American Medical Colleges including a term as board chair. She also serves on the board of directors of the Fitzsimons Redevelopment Authority, the Global Down Syndrome Foundation, and the Rose Community Foundation and is on the corporate board of directors of Orthofix Medical, Inc.
Marks has also served as chair of the board of University of Colorado Hospital and as a member of the UCHealth System and Children’s Hospital Colorado board of directors. Additionally, she served on the Advisory Board for Clinical Research of the National Institutes of Health and chaired the board of the Association of Academic Health Centers.
Among numerous recognitions, the University of Colorado Board of Regents awarded her with the University Medal for her transformational contributions to the university. Marks is a past recipient of the Denver Business Journal’s Outstanding Woman in Business Award. She has also been recognized by the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce as one of the 25 Most Influential Women in Colorado. 5280 Magazine recognized Marks as one of 50 Most Powerful People in Denver. In 2019, the publication Women Inc. named Marks as one of the nation’s most influential corporate board directors.
Marks is a frequent national speaker regarding medical school economics, health care policy and economics, clinical practice management, and leadership issues in academic medicine.
