Post-doctoral Researcher - Experimental Therapeutics - Pellecchia Laboratory
Position Description
We are looking for a highly motivated, organized individual with a PhD in cell and molecular biology or related fields to support various funded projects in experimental therapeutics at the University of California Riverside, School of Medicine in the laboratory of Maurizio Pellecchia, PhD, within UCR’s Biomedical Sciences Division. The position will initially be at a post-doctoral level.
The projects involve cutting-edge techniques to evaluate experimental therapeutics in biochemical and mostly cellular pharmacology assays with cancer cell lines and/or primary tissues. Ample opportunities to be part of an exciting and vibrant research environment, submit and co-author potentially several publications, and attend international and national conferences.
The preferred qualifications are prior experience in tissue culture and western blotting (a must), capillary electrophoresis, protein expression and purification, biochemical plate reader assays are a plus. Experience with live cell imaging is also preferable to take advantage of our IncuCyte system.
Basic Requirements (required at time of application)
The minimum requirements are a Ph.D. or equivalent in cell biology, molecular biology, or a related field, and a commitment to this full-time position.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in tissue culture, cancer cell lines, cell viability, apoptosis, and cell migration assays, and western blotting are required. Experience with live imaging systems such as IncuCyte are preferable, as well as experience with protein expression and purification from E. Coli, experience with biochemical plate-based assays. Experience with experimental therapeutics is highly desirable.
Salary Information
Salary will be based on University of California guidelines for the postdoctoral scholars and is commensurate with experience. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by experience level at appointment. See Table 23 for the salary range. The base salary range for this position is $66,737–$80,034.
